Scams are prevalent all over the world. Victims are often the elderly and less educated on scam strategies. $2.7 billion AUD was lost to scammers in Australia in 2023 according to the ACCC.

With the ongoing cost of living crisis and the loneliness pandemic, many are people are too easily swayed be the promises of financial and romance scams.

Many of these issues could mitigated with better awareness, education, and technological innovation.
